Apricot Haus was founded by Jacinta, a Melbourne creator whose background in healthcare and clinical ethics shapes the way every product is imagined, created and brought to life. After years working in roles centred on care, dignity and thoughtful decision‑making, she shifted into textiles and design with a clear intention: to design expressive, accessible pieces that brighten your day and are made with genuine integrity. Her work blends retro, Scandi and mid‑century modern influences with a focus on inclusive design and ethical business practices.

Apricot Haus products are designed in Melbourne and produced in small batches. Across all production, Jacinta prioritises sustainability, eco‑friendly materials and biodegradable, compostable and recycled components. Components are sourced from small Australian businesses, supporting local makers and community‑focused craftsmanship wherever possible. What about the name Apricot Haus?

Apricot Haus takes its name from one of Jacinta’s earliest and fondest memories growing up on a farm in south‑eastern NSW. At the side of the house stood a huge apricot tree, and many summer afternoons were spent sitting underneath its branches, pulling sun‑warmed apricots straight from the tree and eating them on the spot. Anyone who has tasted a perfectly ripe apricot like that knows how unforgettable it is. 

Haus is a nod to the Bauhaus movement of the early 20th century — a school of thought that championed modernism, simplicity, bold colour and the belief that everyday objects should be both beautiful and useful. The clean lines and flat forms characterised by Bauhaus art echo through many Apricot Haus designs, blending nostalgia with a love of expressive, modern aesthetics.
